Welcome to our Late May newsletter

Time is flying by but are we finding time to stop and take in all that is happening? This week’s newsletter hopes to help you with that.
We have increased our recorded class offering. Our active members can access these free at any time so please explore at your leisure. We are also adding to our live online schedule. Improve your home studio with some great props, mats and wear to bring you full comfort and peace.
If you are looking to explore your practice, we have a great book recommendation from Sean Corne and we start to look at Mudras.
We’d also like to thank you all for your support for the past weeks and months. We are here for you and plan to keep holding space for you and your yoga practice.

BRINGING THE STUDIO TO YOUR HOME

If you have been living in your yoga leggings (no judgement here), rolling up pillows for bolsters and using books for blocks, it may be time to invest in some at home yoga gear. Here are some products from amazing brands to inspire you:

Yoga Mats
Jade Yoga Mats – this is the mat for grip and it’s great for the environment – they plant a tree for every mat sold. They are made with natural rubber tapped from rubber trees – a renewable resource and they contain no PVC, EVA or other synthetic rubber.
A great mat for a sweaty class, also thick for support during yin classes.

Bolsters, meditation cushions & eye masks
LoveHartYoga is the home of stylish, beautifully made relaxation supports. You may recognise their bolsters from our studio – we love them! They are locally made by a wonderful independent, small business – great reasons to support them.

Yogawear
If like many of us to have be rotating the same three pairs of yoga pants over the last eight weeks, it may be time to introduce a new pair into the mix. Vayumudra make the most comfortable and practical yoga wear. Check them out and use discount code: kasiab15 for 15% off.

Blocks & Bricks
Bricks and blocks can really change your practice. We are all unique and built differently. Placing a hand on a brick in trikonasana or half moon can add lift to the spine and opening to the heart and chest. A block under the sit bones can bring length and ease to a forward fold. Yoga Matters have a great selection.

BOOK RECOMMENDATION

Revolution of the Soul: Awaken Through Love – by Seane Corn
Seane starts the book as a young, lost girl in New York City in the 80’s. She learns that god is in everyone and discovers the practice of Yoga. Through yoga philosophy and other tools for emotional healing she unravels her trauma and shares insights on how we can do the same. It’s a great book to learn more about yoga, yourself and how to take your practice off your mat and into the world.

NEW CLASS ALERT

Hatha Flow | Thursdays | 8.15pm |
With Matt Gill

Joining our online schedule this week is Matt Gill. Expect a friendly, down-to-earth practice centred around strong but mindful, slow-flowing sequences. There will be some explorative bits, some challenging bits and some introspective enquiry too – maybe even a few laughs!

Workshop

Spring into Summer
Qigong and Yin workshop with Sasha Gabbe

Sunday 31st May  I 2-4pm I £15

The workshop will be supporting + nourishing the energy pathways that relate to the Liver + Gallbladder and Heart + Small Intestines.
We are transitioning from the element of Wood into Fire, as we move into late Spring + towards Summer.

We shall work with the slow and fluid movements of Qi Gong first – stimulating your Qi Flow and then work with long held Yin yoga postures – which work the body on all levels.

Yin works the deep fascia of the body through slow stretching -releasing tension and invites you to go deep into stillness, as well as stimulating the energy pathways.

This workshop is open to all levels.
