Happy Easter from us.
‘Resurrection is a leap into a whole new way of thinking’ – Deepak Chopra
As it’s Easter weekend and a full moon in Libra, we enter the time of rebirth and renewal. As the Spring brings her fullness and abundance we can sense the energy shifting and changing with the seasons again.
To help you get on the mat, we have some great class pack and annual/six month membership offers. We have a beautiful selection of treatments at our Catford Studio, from Massage to Reiki to Mind Therapies and so much more, there is the treatment for you to find relaxation.
Taking self care further, you still have time to grab one of the last spots to our Tuscan Yoga Retreat in Mid May. We will spend 6 days in the rolling Italian countryside nourishing ourselves with food, nature, asana, pranayama, meditation and sound healing.
We also have 4 very playful workshops coming up. Kasia is breaking down some of the challenging postures that you don’t always have time in class to look at. Next weekend on April 23rd you can join her for a Find Your Wings workshop. You will explore crow, headstand and some fun arm balances, this is a great chance to build your confidence. Kasia is also back in May with a Back Bend workshop. We also have some Sound sessions coming up with Alice’s Alchemic Sound Bath and Junior with his Gong.
And that’s not all! Emma shares her favourite asana and we have the perfect Easter treat recipe 🐣

Our Goddess Emma shares her love of Utkata Konasana – Goddess Pose
This is one of my favourite dynamic poses, and one that I constantly practice. It feels fierce and powerful and it really works the glutes and helps to open the hips and groin. It strengthens core stability. With this arm variation you can really get into opening the shoulders and the heart and the thoracic spine.
I like to build it up from a long held frog pose, and then up into a Malasana squat, followed by some fluid moving from side to side in a ninja lunge.
From there it can be nice to come into Goddess legs and with hands on the thighs twist from side to side, rotating through shoulders and spine. It’s helpful to rest a moment in a wide leg forward fold to lengthen the spine and release tension.
Then taking it all the way back up into Goddess pose you can explore lifting the heals and coming onto the balls of the feet. Bringing the arms over head and turning the palms back on themselves to complete the pose, pressing the chest forward to open the fronts of the shoulders and drawing the arms back behind the head. Keep working the strength in the thighs and booty.
Opening the power of the pelvis and finding that fierce Goddess power as you feel into the tricky balance. Embrace the feeling of surrender, and let the muscles burn a little. Breath should be deep and steady, let the pose empower you to burn away what is blocking and to find your divine power within.
