Love Spring Yoga.

Lighter, longer evenings are finally here and hopefully warm weather will follow soon and stay with us. We all need sunshine to feel good, but yoga can help too. Regular practice will make you feel and look wonderful inside and out. We have added some new sessions to the timetable (see the list below) and are planning to introduce more meditation based classes so keep an eye on our schedule for updates.

Plus we have some amazing workshops lined up for you in April.

APRIL WORKSHOPS

We have a selection of four great yoga workshops lined up for you this month. To book simply go to our timetable, select your date and reserve your slot.

April 15th 14.00-14.45 FAMILY/KIDS YOGA with Kasia
Fun 45min session for little yogis (5-11yr) and their parents. Relaxation and fun stories involving yoga poses. Open to all levels. £12 one adult + child (£6 additional yogis).

April 21st 14.00-16.00 FIRE MANDALA with Lydia
A two hour workshop that will explore and breakdown the sequencing of Mandala so next time you're turning 360 degrees on the mat it won't be with fear. Second of the four Mandala series - Fire will focus on moving around solar plexus with twists, detoxifying body in order to transform. Open to all levels. £25 (£20 early bird).

April 27th 19.30-20.30 GONG BATH with Junior
Monthly sound baths run by a qualified Gong Master, who will take you on a magical journey with his two gongs. Deep relaxation perfect for a Friday night. Open to all levels. £15 pre-booked or £18 on the door (gets booked up very fast).

April 28th 14.00-16.00 LOTUS HIPS AND ARM BALANCE with Aina
Vinyasa flow based workshop focused on hip opening sequences followed by exploration of arm balancing poses. This workshop will help you get deeper and further in your practice, targeting the hip area that often holds tension and tightness. When your hips are open you will have more freedom to explore lotus variations and fun arm balances such as titibasana, bhujapidasana and astavakrasana. Open to all levels. £25 (£20 early bird).

RECIPE FOR YOU

A super easy and delicious WATERCRESS soup that will bring spring to your plate. 

Ingredients:
1 onion chopped
25g of butter
250g of chopped and peeled potatoes
500ml of chicken or vegetable stock (I often use organic Kallo stock cubes for lower salt content)
2 bags of watercress, or one bag of watercress and the same amount of spinach, or one bag of watercress and one bag of green leafy pea shoots
cream either just to drizzle or if you want more creamy taste add 50ml
salt and black pepper to taste

This is how to make it:
In a large pot melt the butter and add chopped onion. Keep stirring until the onion gets soft, but not browned. Next add chopped potatoes and all the stock. Cover the pot with a lid and cook on a low heat for about 20mins. When potatoes are almost cooked add the watercress/spinach/pea shoots and cook for another 5 minutes, no longer. Take off heat blend in a mixer, then add a pinch of salt and black pepper to taste and cream if using.

Soups make a perfect and easy lunch or early dinner meal. Packed with lots of veg and nutritional warming goodness. Just what your body and soul need. Yum.
YOGA Retreats  

A few of you mentioned to me that you would be interested in coming to a yoga retreat. I have few ideas in my head already so hopefully I will be able to share some example locations, dates etc. with you very soon. Any suggestions feel free to send my way. Retreats, apart from great yoga, would definitely include good food and some lovely scenery.
