As a yoga studio, we believe in the power of yoga to bring about positive transformation and healing in individuals and communities. We recognise the historical and systemic barriers that BIPOC individuals have faced in accessing opportunities for personal growth, professional development and leadership roles within the yoga community. In an effort to address this disparity and promote inclusivity, we are proud to offer a BIPOC scholarship for our yoga teacher training program.
Our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion extends beyond mere words. We aim to create a safe and welcoming space where people from all backgrounds can thrive and feel a sense of belonging. By offering this scholarship specifically for BIPOC individuals, we hope to break down financial barriers and provide a platform for underrepresented voices to be heard and elevated in the yoga community.
Through this scholarship, we seek to support aspiring BIPOC yoga teachers in their journey to deepen their practice, gain valuable knowledge and skills, and become ambassadors of yoga in their own communities. We believe that by empowering BIPOC individuals to become yoga teachers, we contribute to a more diverse representation of yoga practitioners and instructors, fostering a more inclusive and representative yoga community overall.
Our intention is to cultivate a network of diverse yoga teachers who can offer yoga as a tool for healing, self-empowerment, and social change within their own communities. By diversifying the voices and perspectives within the yoga teaching profession, we hope to create a ripple effect that extends beyond our studio and positively impacts the larger yoga community.
We recognise that offering this scholarship is just one step towards creating a more equitable and inclusive space. We are committed to ongoing education, self-reflection and listening to the needs and experiences of our BIPOC community members. We are dedicated to continuously improving our studio environment, curriculum and support systems to ensure that all individuals, regardless of their background, feel seen, respected, and valued.
In offering this BIPOC scholarship, we strive to foster a more diverse and representative yoga community, where every individual has the opportunity to share their unique gifts, experiences, and perspectives. We hope that this scholarship will inspire and empower BIPOC individuals to embark on their yoga teaching journey, enabling them to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others and contribute to a more inclusive and equitable world.
